FABRIZIO PLESSI. SPLASH - WATER (E)MOTION

September 16,  2026  -  January 13, 2027

Dear friends of DIE GALERIE,

On September 16, 2026, we will open our first exhibition dedicated to media art: Splash – Water (E)Motion, presenting works by the highly acclaimed artist Fabrizio Plessi.

Born in Reggio Emilia in 1940, this ‘Venetian by choice’ ranks alongside Nam June Paik, Bruce Nauman and Valie Export as one of the most significant international pioneers of video art. Since the 1970s, the element of water has been at the heart of his body of work: as a metaphor for the origin of all life, for the flow of time, consciousness and human memory. Over the course of his artistic career, which now spans more than 50 years, he has explored this subject from a wide variety of perspectives. The exhibition at DIE GALERIE focuses on the series SPLASH, created around 2019, which combines the perfection of modern video technology with the timeless, meditative aesthetics of moving water.

We warmly invite you to join us for the opening of this exciting exhibition on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at our premises at Grüneburgweg 123 in Frankfurt am Main.  Will you be there?

EAST-GERMAN ARTSCAPES

Only until September 9, 2026

We’ll be taking part in the Frankfurt Art Experience again this year!

Our group exhibition East-German Artscapes is slowly drawing to a close. Why not make the most of the season-opening weekend for a final visit to our current exhibition? On September 5 and 6, 2026, we’ll be opening our doors from 11 am to 6 pm as part of the Frankfurt Art Experience. As you wander through East-German Artscapes, from Brandenburg via Berlin and Leipzig to Dresden, you’ll discover a variety of perspectives and themes that trace the views of twelve artists – looking back and forward, inwards and outwards – through painting, sculpture and photography.

P.S.: Would you like to visit our exhibition in a group? Then book your ticket for the WESTEND Art Walk: Classical Modernism and Contemporary Painting.
